Most homeowners in Arizona pay between $130 and $230 a month for weekly pool service. The scope of what's included varies a lot from company to company.

Two Pool Care Packages

What's a Fair Price Range for Weekly Pool Service?
The following are ranges for Arizona residential pool care services.
-
$100 to $130/month — typically chemical-only service
-
$130 to $175/month — full-service entry level, brushing, vacuuming, basket empties, basic chemical balancing
-
$175 to $230/month — full-service with added extras like filter cleans, salt cell maintenance, detailed reporting, equipment checks
If a quote comes in under $100 a month, ask what's not included.
What Makes One Quote Higher Than Another?
-
Pool size — a 12,000-gallon pool and a 25,000-gallon pool don't cost the same to maintain.
-
Water features — waterfalls and attached spas add surface area and equipment to inspect
-
Salt vs. chlorine — salt pools need cell cleanings several times a year
-
Location in the Valley — outlying areas like Queen Creek or Buckeye add drive time
Is It Cheaper to Do Pool Maintenance Myself in Arizona?
A 50-pound bucket of 3-inch tabs costs about $151. Next, a standard 12,000 to 15,000-gallon pool goes through 4 to 5 tabs a week in July. In January or February, that drops to one tab every two or three weeks. Summer chlorine alone costs you somewhere around $32 to $39 a month. Winter is closer to $3. People see $3 and think this is cheap, why would I pay $155 a month for someone else to do this.
Chlorine isn't the whole job.
- pH and alkalinity adjusters, stabilizer, shock, and algaecide typically add another $50 to $100 a month on top of chlorine
- A basic test kit runs $7 to $16 for strips, or up to $52 for a digital kit
DIY vs Pool Service
"I always tell people it's sort of a break even. It really is. Do you want to be more involved where you may do extra or need extra testing and you got to pay for additional services and you want to know about what's going on, or do you just want us to take care of it?" - Brock Falk, Shasta Pools Maintenance Director
