New Pools

New Pool Demand Continues to Increase to Historic Highs

March 2022 Updates

According to the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, the largest national organization representing the pool industry, 2020 marked unprecedented growth across the industry, with more demand than any year in recent history. And, so far, 2021 isn’t looking to slow down with the amount of families wanting to build new pools.

We’ve felt the growth at Shasta like never before, working hard to create new processes and procedures to accommodate the increase of interest but also knowing, realistically, we can only build so many pools, annually, without affecting the quality that is expected of a Shasta pool.

Being even more transparent about our pool timelines has been the number one priority for us to communicate to our current and potential customers. We always hope to build faster but there are many factors that add to a pool timeline that are unfortunately out of our control.

Delays for some materials and equipment have created a large roadblock for us and our customers. For example, our largest pump and equipment supplier experienced reduced production in several key facilities as a result of “shelter in place” orders. What resulted were suspensions of operations in several facilities and factories throughout 2020. Seventy-five percent of the companies we work with have reported supply chain disruptions in some capacity due to enforced transportation restrictions. We continue to work with our partners to get back to our original production schedules, helping us to decrease our overall project timelines.

Arizona also has experienced a unique challenge of having a significant shortage of qualified skilled tradesmen to increase our construction crews. Our team is working diligently to build out our teams to accommodate the demand as quickly as the available pool of talent is allowing for.

At Shasta, we’ll continue to work to provide new pools to as many Arizona families as we can, navigating these unusual times. We also hope that all our customers will continue to be kind and patient, as we’ve appreciated so much in the last year. We know having to wait an even longer period of time to dive in and create backyard memories with your families was not something you signed up for. We didn’t think we’d have to make you wait longer, either. But, we promise, it will be worth it.
