Which Pool Shapes Are Best For Your Arizona Lifestyle?

Homeowners are no longer bound to installing the basic rectangular lap pool in their backyard. These days, homeowners can have virtually any shape and style pool that they can dream of (and afford!).

When it comes to thinking about the shape of pool that you’d like to put into your backyard, it really comes down to your lifestyle and how the pool will be used.  We’ve broken it down into three main ways pools are typically used to help you make the best choice:

For The Family

When someone says that they’re putting in a pool “for the family”, what they really mean is “for the kids”.  In this case the shape of the pool isn’t as much of an issue than the depth of it (though opt for rounded shapes over sharply edged pools when possible).  Consider the fact that you’ll have this pool in your backyard from the time your children are wee ones to when they are teens and beyond.  The pool you choose should have multiple depths to accommodate your growing brood, so a beach entry pool or installing an L-shaped lap pool that offers some shallow space is a wise idea.

For The Backyard Entertainer

If you plan on holding parties in your warm, Arizona backyard, then start looking at pools that feature unique geometric shapes.  Opting for a different shape will not only intrigue your guests, but it’ll also compliment your backyard nicely.  Strongly consider adding some water features along with any pool that you’ll be using for entertaining purposes to add some extra sophistication and elegance to your garden.

For The Fit

Rectangular pools are indisputably the best option for anyone who’s looking to install a pool for fitness purposes.  If you plan on doing any diving, then consider the fact that the deep end of the pool must be, at a minimum, 8.5 feet deep for a low diving board, and progressively deeper depending on the height of the board.
