Phoenix Swimming Pool Design Ideas for Small Backyards

Many homeowners cite having a small backyard as the reason why they haven’t fulfilled their dreams and built a pool in their backyard.  Here’s some good news for everyone living on a limited backyard budget:  there are swimming pools for small backyards that will work for every lifestyle, from contemporary pools to lap pools and beyond.  Today we’ll make your dreams come true by proving that a backyard of any space can have its own oasis for homeowners to cool down and relax, starting with:

Lap Pools

The slim and streamlined design of lap pools (or contemporary pools) makes this style of pool optimal for those who are lacking space but still want a spot to exercise or chill out and relax.  Lap pools can be built in any dimension, and though they ideally are anywhere from 20’x40′, they can easily be built as 10’x20′ or even smaller depending on your space.

Mini Pools

Also referred to as “cocktail pools”, these mini pools are the ideal choice for anyone who wants a space for themselves and their friends and family to lounge comfortably to beat the heat.  Mini pools can include the exact same features as standard pools, including tanning ledges, negative edges, rock features, and water features such as waterfalls.

“J” and “L” Shaped Pools

Graze Google and you’ll certainly come across swimming pool images that include “J” and “L” shaped pools.  These pool pictures exemplify how pool lovers can add some extra space to the traditional contemporary style or lap style pool by wrapping edges around their garden or home so that the pool creates a “J” or “L” shape.  The additional benefit to this style of pool is that the longer end allows for swimmers or other larger parties to swim and lounge, while the shorter edge provides an area for other bathers to congregate.
