Halloween Celebrations Around the Country

Shasta Pools | 10/31/13

featured Image Ghoulish tales, haunted houses and homes decorated with festively freakish pumpkins will all be coming back to life as Halloween is now quickly approaching. The whole country is gearing up for the big day with some pretty scary celebrations, starting with a “historic”-themed evening in Virginia:

The Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia

Return to the year 1706 when witch trials were going in full swing at the Colonial Williamsburg.  Here you can be an active participant in a dramatic trial of a woman that was accused of practicing witchcraft, go on a tour and learn about the ghost legends of the area, and partake in a creepy candlelit walk.

The West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnival, California

Every year, this fantastically themed carnival draws almost half a million people to the streets surrounding Santa Monica Boulevard – and for a good reason.  You'll be treated to some of the most amazing and hilarious costumes that you'll ever see in your lifetime.
NOTE:  Parking is a bit of a pain, and some of the costumes worn are not exactly “child-friendly”, so consider leaving the kids and cars at home.  Hire a babysitter and take transit.

The Pumpkin Splash, Arizona

Sticking to the west side of the country, if you're looking for a totally unique an done of a kind pumpkin patch experience, then consider going to a “pumpkin splash” held at a local pool.  Here kids and adults can partake in fun Halloween-themed games and activities poolside, and later venture into the water to choose their favorite pumpkin.

The  Howl-O-Scream, Busch Gardens Florida

If you want to replace your dreams with nightmares, then definitely head east and hit up the “Howl-O-Scream” event at Busch Gardens.  Eerie shows, scare zones, haunted houses and scream-inducing rides and roller coasters are sure to put you in that frightened Halloween spirit.Shasta Pools is a Phoenix pool builder who provides a variety of services including swimming pool remodeling, commercial pool building, and pool service and repair.
