Patios are a multi-functional outdoor living area that are perfect for dining, socializing and, of course, basking in the sun. When coming up with pool ideas, it’s important to build a patio that matches both the style of you home and your lifestyle. We’ve come up with and built a few gorgeous outdoor living areas with pools that we’re sharing today to help get your own great patio and pool ideas started.
1. Swim Up Seating
Talk about luxury! Incorporating some swim up seating into you pool ideas will give your poolscape that resort-style feel right in your own backyard. When matched with a covered bar or dining area, friends and family will be begging to come over and use the pool.
2. Custom Pool Decks
A pool deck is an essential piece of any patio, offering the ultimate poolside location to unwind after a long day to enjoy the hot Arizona sun. The best patios are those that resemble the appearance and the tone of the backyard. Though, one of the coolest outdoor living areas with pools we’ve seen has built in seating areas to the decking, which provides immediate lounging spaces without the need for chairs and chaises.
3. Tanning Ledges
Tanning ledges, also often called an in-pool sundeck, can be cleverly incorporated into any design. We particularly enjoy tanning ledges that have been built into freeform designs and have been designed to appear an extension of the deck with a contrasting pool color surrounding it.
4. Bistro Patios
Ideal for smaller backyards, the bistro patio can be incorporated right into the poolside deck, though our favorite pool ideas incorporate a bistro patio which is detached and can be reached by following a short pathway which leads to this quaint seating area.
5. “Garden Oasis” Patios
Garden oasis patios are perfect for those interested in nature-inspired pool ideas. The clever use of rocks and landscaping breaks up the seating and socializing area of the patio, keeping the size of these areas to a minimum for increased privacy.
6. Cabanas
If you enjoy entertaining outdoors, then a cabana is the ideal addition to any pool and patio design. These not only provide a convenient spot for bathers to dress and undress, but our favorite cabanas also include outdoor showers along the exterior walls.
7. Outdoor Dining Rooms
For pool owners who love al fresco dining, the outdoor dining room is a must-have. Some of the most gorgeous outdoor dining areas have been built detached from the main patio and on the opposite side of the yard which creates a relaxing sanctuary for diners.
8. Poolside Fire Pits
Adding a fire feature to your pool and patio area is one surefire way to create some excitement. We love the idea of placing a fire pit near the pool so bathers have a place to warm up after a swim!
